Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) resin is one of the most ubiquitous engineering thermoplastics due to its outstanding balance of impact strength, surface finish, and processability. Its largest market segments are automotive, electronic appliances, and building materials. In the automotive field, ABS is used for both interior and exterior components, including dashboard assemblies, interior trim panels, pillar covers, steering wheel covers, door liners, glove boxes, HVAC vent grilles, and various knobs and handles. Its good dimensional stability also makes it suitable for larger components like body panels and bumper fascias. Within electronic appliances, ABS is the workhorse material for housings and structural parts of refrigerators, televisions, air conditioners, washing machines, computers, printers, copiers, and small kitchen appliances, prized for its aesthetic qualities, rigidity, and electrical insulation. For building materials, ABS pipes, fittings, sanitary ware (e.g., flush tank components), and decorative panels are widely adopted due to the material's corrosion resistance, toughness, and ease of installation. Additionally, ABS finds extensive use in the packaging industry (e.g., luggage shells), furniture components, sports equipment (e.g., golf club heads, protective gear), toys, and various instruments and machinery housings.
